Robotics provides students with an opportunity to develop their problem solving, team work, and logical thinking skills in a fun and collaborative way. A new game is developed each year for teams to compete with their robots against other teams during regional scrimmages. At Ōtūmoetai Intermediate, teams spend each Friday building their robots and practicing scrimmaging. Selected teams compete in the National Championship to determine who will represent New Zealand at the World Championships held in the USA.
